Emami Limited has signed a definitive agreement to acquire the remaining ~73.5% stake in Axiom Ayurveda Pvt Ltd, marking its formal entry into the beverage segment and strengthening its position in health and wellness categories.
The transaction, valued at up to ~USD 24.1 million, follows an initial tranche in which Emami increased its holding from ~26.5% to a majority stake. The acquisition will be completed in phases over the next three months, subject to regulatory approvals and customary closing conditions.
Axiom’s portfolio spans aloe vera–based beverages under the AloFrut brand, herbal juices under Jeevan Ras, and beauty products under Mukti Gold. The business has an established presence across general trade and institutional channels and is expected to achieve revenues of around ~USD 21.7 million in FY26.
Harsha Vardhan Agarwal, Vice Chairman and MD, Emami Ltd, said the acquisition aligns with the company’s strategy to expand into high-growth categories linked to evolving consumer demand for health-oriented products.
Rishabh Gupta, Founder of Axiom Ayurveda, noted the growing shift toward healthier beverage alternatives and said the partnership would support the next phase of growth.
From a packaging industry perspective, the transaction extends Emami’s packaging footprint beyond its established personal care portfolio—where formats such as tubes, bottles, jars, and secondary cartons are central—to include liquid beverage packaging and functional closures.
The integration of Axiom’s beverage and juice portfolio introduces additional requirements around PET bottles, multilayer structures, labelling, and shelf-life performance, areas where converters and OEMs will play a critical role.
As Emami scales Axiom’s operations, opportunities are likely to emerge across primary packaging innovation, lightweighting, and cost-efficient secondary packaging, alongside the adaptation of FMCG packaging expertise into beverage formats—positioning packaging as a key enabler of product quality, differentiation, and distribution efficiency.
